The polygonal drum screen is a rotary screening device with a polygonal (e.g., hexagonal) cross-section, mainly used for classifying materials (such as foundry waste sand, garbage, Chinese medicinal materials) by particle size. It sifts out fine qualified materials through the screen mesh and retains or discharges large foreign matters or unqualified materials inside the drum. Working Principle: Raw materials enter one end of the polygonal drum, which rotates and is usually set at a certain inclined angle. The materials are tumbled and rolled inside the drum; qualified fine particles pass through the screen mesh and fall into the hopper below, while large lumps, foreign matters or unqualified materials move along with the rotating drum and are finally discharged from the tail or a dedicated outlet of the drum.
